Ddumba Paul Arthur is a Legal Associate in the Corporate and Commercial Practice at Namara Musinguzi & Co. Advocates, where he advises local and international clients on a broad range of corporate, commercial, regulatory, and dispute resolution matters across multiple sectors of the economy. He has extensive experience in corporate advisory, commercial transactions, employment law, real estate and conveyancing, regulatory compliance, and civil litigation. In his daily practice, Paul regularly assists clients with legal due diligence, contract drafting and negotiation, corporate governance, legal research, and regulatory advisory. He also represents clients before courts, tribunals, and mediation forums, providing practical and commercially focused solutions to complex legal issues.
His notable professional matters include advising a reinsurance brokerage firm on tax, corporate, and land law matters regarding the establishment of a holding company in Mauritius, and acting for TotalEnergies Marketing (U) Limited in connection with the acquisition of three property leases in Uganda. Furthermore, Paul has advised a Kenyan insurance company on employment law matters by reviewing and updating its Human Resource policies for regulatory compliance, represented clients before the High Court, subordinate courts, and specialised tribunals in commercial, employment, and civil disputes, and conducted critical legal due diligence and opinions in support of corporate transactions and investment decisions.
Prior to his current role, he gained valuable experience advising and representing both corporate and individual clients on a wide spectrum of commercial and contentious matters. He remains deeply committed to delivering timely, pragmatic, and business-orientated legal advice that enables clients to navigate Uganda’s evolving legal and regulatory landscape with confidence.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Dip.LP) from the Law Development Centre. These credentials qualify him as an admitted Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all subordinate courts thereto. To maintain his professional standing, he holds active memberships with both the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
